The Prelude :: Part 1

Welcome, everyone! This is the Prelude to my apocalypse attempt. I call it from Riches to Rags - Brad and Angelina. First I want to thank you all for coming and taking a peak at this. I truly hope you enjoy it. I've been thinking about this storyline for months now. I'm not a huge fan of Brad and Angelina but I thought they'd be fun to play out in the sims. Please note: I did not create their simselves, rather I downloaded versions of their simselves from the sims 2 website.

Brad's a pleasure sim with the LTW of having 50 first dates. I highly doubt that'll happen but it's possible so we'll see. Brad's been writing letters home to his parents at the end of each semester and I've made sure to intercept them so we can figure out what he's up to. What was that? No. I'm so not a stalker. Just because I want to know what Brad's doing doesn't make me obsessed. Really, I swear. Lets read the first letter, shall we?

Dear Mom and Dad, I arrived at my dorm on campus just as the sun was setting. As I walked towards the front door I wondered what the next 4 years would be like and hoped I would make lots of friends. Of course, you should know me well enough by now to know I started looking for girls to date the minute I arrived on campus too.

*I found this version of Brad Pitt on lgwg18162003's sim page.

I did make a friend right away. The first night after unpacking my bags I sat down for a quiet game of chess, knowing how busy the next day would be with checking into classes, when a guy by the name of George sat down next to me. We became instant friends. Just like me he wants to me a big movie star someday.

George's father is a TV newscaster but he decided a long time ago not to compete in journalism with him. It wasn't until recently that he decided to work as an actor but now it's all he wants to do. Who knows...maybe someday we can be in a movie together.

*I found this version of George Clooney on flarcheveque2's sim page.

The next day after class I realized just how much I needed to learn so I picked up a book and started reading. Before I knew it George and a girl from our dorm were sitting next to me studying. It's great to have people to study with. I must admit though I doubt I'll spend much of my time in college studying more then I need to.

Remember the dance spheres we see at carnivals and entertainment parks? Well, we have one at our dorm and I couldn't wait to give it a try. However, you know as well as me I should have built up my body skill a bit before I tried it.

I fell off the dance sphere within the first minute I was on it and threw up. Augh! It felt so awful. I'll have to build my body skill up a bit before I try that again. At least, I can say I've been on one now.

You wouldn't believe what happened to George. Right in the middle of his dinner the college coach approaches him and makes him stop eating to do some crunches. Luckily, I was upstairs in my room and the coach never stopped by otherwise I would have been in trouble too. Geesh!

Some nights when everyone's asleep and the cafeteria worker is long gone I sneak down to the dorm fridge and stuff my face. I figure I don't need to change my midnight cravings just because I'm in college now. Heck, they'll probably even increase what with the late night study sessions.

Some of the guys at the dorm suggested I use this lady called the matchmaker to find a date. I figured it couldn't hurt to try because all the girls in my dorm aren't that exciting.

The girl the matchmaker found for me was very pleasant. We had a good time together but I'm so young and just want to have fun for now. Maybe if we met when I was older we could have worked out but I have many more dating years ahead of me before I settle down.

Besides George I have two other close friends in the dorms. They are identical twins, Perry and Devon Addison*. I've never seen siblings as close as they are. They seriously do everything together. It's kind of weird but they're both super nice guys so whatever.

*Perry and Devon are from Sim Swap's March Challenge

Devon is great for playing practical jokes on. He's so gullible it's ridiculous.

Perry on the other hand is a bit more serious and doesn't let anything get past him. He's constantly complaining about the cafeteria food and how awful it is. He goes on and on about how burnt food should not be served no matter what and how unsanitary the kitchen facilities are. Perry's a good guy but sometimes he can be too much. C'mon, it's a school cafeteria, what does he expect.

I know it's going to sound vain but I've taken to practicing romance in the mirror. For some reason I can't seem to find girls to date me so maybe this'll help.

The semester's over and I got an A+. I'm happy about it but am sad because I only had 2 dates during the entire semester. I thought I'd have an easier time with the ladies but I'm not so sure anymore. Well, I better go because 2nd semester just started and I have lots to do.

Take care,
Brad

Hey Mom and Dad,

Second semester freshman year past in a blur. Not too much happened since it was fall and I spent most of my time studying to earn the extra skill building boost. I was working so hard I even fell asleep in my macaroni and cheese one night. Boy, was I embarrassed.

Have you ever heard of an energizer? If you have, why didn't you ever tell me about it. It's amazing. My hunger goes away, my need to use the toilet disappears and I'm wide awake after using it. A big science nerd 'borrowed' it from the science lab for everyone to use. I think he's using us as his guinea pigs but I don't care. It seriously rocks!

Apparently I wasn't the only one over working themselves. One night when I was making a call to a lady friend I met the day before I found Perry past out on the lounge chair right next to our entryway. Poor guy, him and his brother are so concerned with making as many friends as possible they don't have take the time to rest. They are quite the partiers.

Near the end of the semester winter started which meant no more bonus for studying so I decided to hit the town. My first stop was a local hang out on campus. I met a very nice girl and we had a date right there on the spot. The date was okay, but she's definitely not what I'm looking for.

The next day I headed downtown for a completely different scene. The girls are all a bit older and more mature. I couldn't help but feel they were out of my league. I did meet a few nice ladies and even managed to have couple date on my visit downtown.

*Fairiefire's simself from Sim Swap is standing in the background. She created the Mikata and Ohana families.

I met this one woman named Sandra and although she was quite lovely something inside me said I should not date her, that it would somehow be wrong later down the line.

*Simdra (aka Sandra) is a member of Sim Swap. She's slowly writing a legacy and created the Lion Heart family.

*The guy right in the front is Blite and he writes the Ten Caesar Legacy over at Boolprop.

The semester was coming to an end and I hadn't done much homework nor was I planning on doing any so I influenced one of my fellow dormies to write my term paper for me. I promised her a date sometime. She seems smitten with me but she's not that cute.

Lauren, I believe is her name, gosh isn't it awful that I don't even know her name and she wrote my term paper, stayed up late that night making sure my paper was perfect. I owe her big time. She'll definitely get that date she wants, just not now.

When the time came for me to take my final exam I crawled out of bed and went in my pj's. I saw Perry, Devon and George all hanging out around the bubble blower and wished I could stay and hang out with them, but I had to go to class otherwise I would definitely fail my exam.

I ended my second semester freshman year fairly well grade wise but I've only managed to have 4 first dates so far and I'm not happy about that. I'm only young once and I want to meet more ladies. My goal next semester is to have more dates. I don't care about getting an A+ if that means I can't date.

Love ya,
Brad

Mom, Dad,
You wouldn't believe it...the cafeteria worker started the kitchen on fire and instead of grabbing the nearby fire extinguisher she started panicking. Perry was right there to see the whole thing too and now he won't shut up about how terrible our cafeteria food and service is. Actually, I think it's kind of amusing but I could never say that to Perry, he'd freak out.

George and I decided to start going out on double dates. We're hoping we'll have more success with the ladies as a duo then we do solo. George has become a real close friend of mine over the past year. Together we are invinsible when it comes to winning over the hearts of ladies. He'll compliment them while I'll brag about how awesome George and I are.

George and I are geniuses. The ladies are putty in our hands after a couple hours over dinner. George woo's them with comments about how their clothes cling to their bodies in the most perfect of ways (that's a direct quote and his favorite line I might add) while I'll brag about the greek house we're planning on opening during our junior year.

Besides dating I'm working towards the skills I'll need for my future dream job. College is great and I don't want it to end too quickly but at the same time I can't wait to start my career when I graduate. It'll be a perfect start to my adult life.

The same science nerd that brought the energizer to our dorm brought what he calls a thinking cap. It's suppose to increase are studying capabilities. I think I look ridiculous with it on but if I'll have to study less in the long run I'm all for it.

Dating remains my primary focus for now though but I must admit it's hard to keep the girls I previously dated from hitting me when they see me with a new girl. I guess that's always why you said I should be careful around them, huh mom? Woman are fiercer then I thought.

At the end of my first semester sophomore year my grades were starting to slip but I still managed to get a C which I'm okay with because I managed to have 4 first dates that semester. I hope all is well on the home front. I'll write again soon.

~Brad

Hi Mom and Dad,

George, Devon and Perry think they're in a rock band. It's too funny. One day the four of us went to a local college hang out together and the three of them started playing the guitars and drums laying around. I thought they sounded okay but a fellow student told me she thought they were awful. Of course, I agreed with her and asked for a her number. My mind never strays very far from dating.

After that girl gave me her number and left I started hitting on a different girl there. She seemed really taken by me so I asked her on a date right there on the spot and she said yes. The date was alright but I don't think either of us plan on seeing each other again. There's just no chemistry between us.

I must admit I spend a great deal of time on the phone. I have to build those relationships if I want the girls to agree to a date with me. Winter is in full force now. I wish it would hurry up and end so spring, the time for love can start.

The semester was going along just fine when something very strange happened. One night when I was minding my own business on the roof of our dorm this crazy blonde comes out of nowhere and starts doing the chicken dance. I thought what a nut and began walking away but she stopped me.

She started yelling and poking me. I couldn't figure out what the heck was going on. I had never met or dated the girl so there was no reason I could think of for her to be so mean to me.

As if that wasn't bad enough she pulled out handcuffs and tied my hands up. Now, normally I'd like that if a girl I was dating did that, she'd get bonus points for being kinky, but this time I was not pleased. I had no idea what was going on. She lead me downstairs to the front of the dorm...

where a limo was waiting for us. I couldn't figure it out. If I was in trouble why would a limo be our transportation. If I wasn't in trouble why was the girl so rude to me. It was only a few minutes later that all was revealed.

It turns out their is a secret society on campus and I befriended three of their members which automatically makes me a member. Cool, huh? Maybe not, because two of the three members I befriended I actually dated and the other one I plan on dating sometime in future. This could turn ugly.

The secret society's building is absolutely amazing. It's even guarded by a cow plant in front. Thankfully, I know better then to go anywhere near it.

Inside I found two of the girls I dated. The one girl and I never really got along that great so I didn't give a second thought to flirting with the other girl I dated. What? A guy's gotta have some fun especially after what I went through to get initiated.

I don't think the guys ever study. All I ever see them doing is blowing bubbles or hanging out with someone. Perry and Devon are very concerened with making friends while George just wants lots of lover, 20 to be exact. I thought my desire for dating 50 different sims was extreme but 20 loves at the same time. Yikes!

I finally managed to get my 10th first date. It's about time too. I've been working as many girls as possible and it's taken forever to acheive this small milestone towards my ultimate goal. I don't feel like I'm using these woman because I always make sure we have a good time and never make any promises I don't plan on keeping.

The semester was only half over though so I had plenty more time to have some more dates. I've been spending a great deal a time downtown meeting new sims. Sometimes I get lucky and am able to have a date with them right away other times it takes awhile before they'll agree to it one. Not so surprisingly Sandy was an easy catch.

Aw, man. The more dating I do the more woman get upset with me for going out with someone else. Even if I'm not doing romantic interactions with the other sim a previous sim I dated will get upset with me and say I'm cheating on them. I don't get it. Like I just said, I make no promises to these girls when I date them. Women...they're such drama queens.

The girl that wrote my term paper last semester is kind of stauking me. At least that's how I feel. When I sit down for breakfast she quickly grabs a plate of the exact same thing I'm eating and sits down next to me. Then she'll ask when I'm doing for the day and when I tell her I'm going downtown she'll give me a long, sad face. I'm not so sure anymore about that date I promised her.

I ended the semester with an A in my class thanks to another dormie writing my term paper for me. The more exciting thing though is I've had 18 first dates now. That's 10 this semester alone. Seems like I'm the new stud on campus...just joking. Oh, and I've declared my major. I figured Political Science couldn't be too hard. Alright, got to go...I have a date tonight.
Love always,
Brad

That's all for now. I really wish I had more time to play, but sadly I have a life. *sigh* I hope to get the final college chapter done in the next week but that may be a little optimistic on my part. We'll see. So what did you think? I promise Angelina will make an appearance in the next chapter. And yes, I know Brad can't really start a greek house. It's a shame though...I could have had fun with that in the storyline. Will Brad be able to complete his LTW in college?. Who knows. Maybe...

This was my first time using blogspot and the format didn't turn out quite as I expected. The draft looked much nicer then it does now. I decided to blog my apo because at least this way I can edit the story when I'm not logged onto the sims. I think doing it this way will help me get out new updates faster.

Oh yeah, in case you're wondering I am going to be following all the new seasons and pet rules. *gulp*

I love the narrative way you're telling the story. I suppose the letters home will have to stop once he returns home, but maybe Brad can write in a book for them or letters he doesn't mail. Hmm. You'll find a way.
