Thanks to Darby over at boolprop I just realized I left something out. What happened to Pax, Jon's brother? Well, he reached the top of the Adventurer career and moved out. Before leaving for good though he finally managed to kiss a woman. If I remember correctly it was Jan Tellerman. Okay, now I think that pretty much sums it up. Sandra is narrating this chapter and Doug, James and Seth have just left for college.
Journal Entry - All the Boys are Off to College Except BillToday is a good day for my family. For the first time in several generations three of my children left for college. After the disaster, our neighborhood education system had gone down the drain but luckily my husband was able to restore it. It was hard not to see my oldest son leave for college with his brothers but I think he's adjusting alright. He's been working as a Button Smasher for some video game company and hopes to get in with the right people to restore the phone lines so we can use it and the internet whenever we want.
A couple weeks after the boys left for college we received a letter from Doug. I've inserted it for everyone to read.
Mom, Dad, Bill,Our apartment isn't the greatest thing in the world and James is constantly groaning about how terrible it looks but I think it has potential. We'll just have to work extra hard to make sure we earn a lot of grant money so we can make the place over.
Luckily, I remembered to bring the educational bookshelf dad got from work. It helps so much with learning the skills we need to get A's in our classes and the appropriate skills we need for our future jobs. I think we all know what we want to do already to better the neighborhood. I have decided to major in psychologyto help with becoming an Cult Leader when I graduate. Those ghost scarings need to stop.
College is a bit different from what I thought it would be. I envisioned having lots of parties and hanging out with new friends. With the disaster still stuck at the back of everyone's minds though no parties are thrown and most people take education very seriously. Our gym instructor even makes the occasional visit to our apartment to make sure we are staying fit.
I don't think I could be more fit if I tried. All those hours on the treadmill before leaving for college has taught me just how important it is to stay strong.*swoons* Look at that sexy chest hair! I guess Aaroc must have had it, which means Jon probably has it too and I just never noticed.
I have met a few people who don't take everything so seriously. A girl I met one day showed me the school cheer. Hmm...I probably shouldn't admit I know how to do a cheer, it's such a girly thing. Lets just keep that between you guys and me, okay?
Other then that I spend a lot of time studying. I haven't had to pull an all nighter yet but as my classes get harder I may have to. Speaking of which I better get back to my homework.Love ya,
Doug
Not to sound selfish but I kind of like that Bill didn't go off to college with the other boys. It's so quiet around here now and it'd be even quieter if all the boys had left. Bill and I have always enjoyed playing chess together but it seems he's gotten very good lately. I think his father's teaching him some tricks but neither will ever confess to it.
In his older years Jon became a big kid. Once the responsibility of bringing education back to our neighborhood was lifted he was able to kick back and relax a lot more. He's been able to enjoy the simple things in life like having a good snowball fight with Bill or I.
Jon and Bill have gotten really close over the past couple years. I can often find them sitting at the kitchen table talking. One time I overheard them having a good laugh about the latest letter we had received from James at college. I've inserted a copy of it for you to read.
Fam,Well, we've been at college for just over a year now and things are going well. With some of our grant money we added a second floor to our apartment and did a makeover of our first floor. You'll be able to see the changes in the pictures I included. No reason to walk through them. Between sleeping and studying we have all made a few friends.
I've become rather close with one girl. We met during one of our classes and it was love at first sight. She's beautiful and we have a ton of fun together.
I am sick of the constant cold in our neighborhood. One morning I found an angry looking snowman in our front yard. One of the dormies from a few blocks over must have built it while we were sleeping. We kind of have a bit of a rivalry with them. Don't worry, it's all in good fun.
Seth and Doug agreed the snowman must be destroyed. We each took turns kicking it before the entire thing collapsed.
I'm still writing in my journal whenever I get the chance. It's a great way for me to express my feelings without actually having to share them with anyone. I find it odd that Seth doesn't do the same thing since he's a lot like me in that sense, kind of quiet and shy around people until he gets to know them better.
Seth is the best twin brother ever though. We enjoy teasing each other and rough housing together. It may look like we're upset with each other in this picture but really we're just have a good time. Seth really knows how to get me going though.
He'll keep punching me in the same spot over and over until I have to scream mercy! He can be quite relentless. Anyway, I have class in a few minutes so I must go.Hope all's well,
James
I always enjoyed the letters the boys sent. They weren't too far away but we didn't see them often so it was nice to hear how they were doing. In our free time and there was a lot of that while the boys were off in college Jon and I would take turns grooming each other. Until I figure out how to get the water running efficiently throughout our neighborhood Jon and I don't have any other way to stay clean really. Washing your hands only does so much and there's no way I'd take a sponge bath. I knew when I was given the opportunity to better the neighborhood somehow I'd do it by bringing back running water. I nearly paniced when I found out water was so scarce. I need my showers!
Bill is doing fairly well for himself at the gaming company he's been working for. He's gotten several promotions and has been making a lot of money doing it. I feel really good that it'll only be a matter of time before we can use the phone and internet whenever we want.
I did it! I have become Chief of Staff and figured out a way to get running water throughout the neighborhood. I also recreated contraceptives and medicine to cure the sick. I feel very good about what I've done for the neighborhood. The last letter we received from the boys was addressed only to Bill and for awhile Jon and I didn't even know it existed. We actually found it by accident.
Bill,Make sure mom and dad don't see this letter. I don't know how pleased they'd be with us. All of us have gotten a little wild lately. I suppose it all started when mom brought back birth control and running water. I'm sure you of all sims understand what birth control means. The ability to take baths is pretty cool too though.
Love is in the air. I met this girl who's a little rough around the edges but that intrigues me. The more reluctant she is the more I am determined to win her over. It took awhile to get a kiss from her but I managed and after a bit more time I got her to take it even farther. I won't give details but I can guarantee it was a great time.
James and I have a hard time pulling Doug away from his video game. He has a high need for fun and video games are about the only thing we have that can keep him happy. It was time for him to find a girl though.
After a good round of woohoo I like to nap on the couch alone. Too much together time freaks me out. I need some space and snuggling just isn't my thing.
Finally, Doug snagged a girl. I'm not sure how crazy he is about her but they seem to get along just fine. It's just nice to see him spending time with a sim rather then a video game. He can be such a nerd!
James is still seeing the same girl he was dating back sophomore year. They are rather good together and I'm almost positive they've used the birth control mom reinvented. The walls in our apartment are pretty thin.
Doug's getting a little naughty. I actually saw him grab his girlfriend's butt in public the other day. I had to laugh but you should have seen the look on his face while he did it. It was priceless.
He had this overly satisfied smirk which made me wonder if he'd been getting rather close with his girlfriend. He's never mentioned it nor have I heard any funky noises so I'm not sure. I think squeezing a girl's butt is a huge jump for him anyways. You know how conservative he is. Well, that's the dish on our "woohoo" lives. Hope you enjoyed it!Seth
I must admit I wish I'd never found that letter. My sons will always be my little babies and to think of them in compromising positions like that is almost too much. I know they are growing up and becoming men and for that I am so proud, but I don't need to know all the details of their lives. They'll be coming home very soon. Doug called a couple days ago and said they all graduated with honors. I couldn't be happier. Our happy little family will be back together again very soon. I've missed my boys so very much.
Again, I apologize for such a short chapter. I hope you enjoyed it. Sandra, I'm sorry I couldn't delve into your sim self's personality more but as I'm sure you noticed I didn't have many pics to work with.
