Chapter 10 - Cass

Journal Entry

I must admit I never thought Rudy would be much of a father but he has surprised me on the rare occasion. I think he has a real soft spot for Marcheline. She could be picking her nose while he's trying to teach her something but instead of getting annoyed he just laughs and smiles at her.

His sister, Jane, is one of a kind. In many ways she's the typical romance sim but far more careless then most. When she's not spending her freetime doing "things" with random guys in the neighborhood she's trying to meet a new guy on the internet.

She is completely oblivious to what the guy she just fooled around with is doing. The minute the woohoo ends she's onto her next conquest. It annoys me to no end that she doesn't make sure these guys leave. My children do not need to be seeing all these random guys around. I'm not ready to have that talk with them yet.

I never really was the marrying kind. It's not that I didn't want to spend the rest of my life with the same person, it just never was that important to me. That being said the day Rudy and I finally got married was the happiest day of my life. I'm actually very glad my kids were there to see it too.

Kids grow up so fast. My youngest is already a child. I've been seriously considering having another one. I miss having a baby around in diapers. They're so sweet and innocent at that stage in their life. I'm not sure how Rudy would feel about that though.

Rudy isn't as close with Daniel as he is with Marcheline, but I have a feeling Daniel's trying to change that. Rudy's favorite past time is working on the garden. I've noticed whenever Daniel sees that he's out there he instantly wants to go help. I hope Daniel's attempts aren't for nothing.

Well, I said I wanted to have another baby and it looks like that is going to happen. I must admit I had this one planned just like the other ones. I lied to Rudy about taking my birth control pills. I knew he'd never agree to another child so I just told him the pills failed. It's not like he'll be helping me much anyways.

This pregnancy is definitely hitting me harder then the other one's. I was younger then though so that makes a difference.

Rudy is one smooth talker. I know he already got Daniel into private school and as you saw in an earlier picture he's doing quite well, but how he managed to impress the headmaster with burnt food to get Marcheline in I'll never know.

She is totally daddy's little girl though and I think she knows it. I wonder if she'll try to take advantage of that later when she's older.

I wish Jane would keep her conquests to herself. I speak for Rudy and myself when I say we're sick of seeing her with a different guy all the time. Doesn't she have any self respect?

The whole family was there to watch Daniel become a teen. I can't believe I have a teenage son already. It feels like just yesterday he was a little baby.

Daniel has chosen to pursue a life of knowledge. He will definitely be going off to college when the time's right.

Shortly after Daniel's birthday I went into labor.

The whole family gathered around to meet Julie once they heard my screams subside. You'd think someone would want to help me but no, they all just stood their panicking when I went into labor.

Much like Rudy has a soft spot for Marcheline I think Jane has a soft spot for her older brother. She's usually fairly selfish but every now and then she'll help Rudy prepare desserts for his business.

Jane was recently fired from her job as a Magazine Editor when she helped cover up his nieces lack of talent and has since started working as a Detective for the local police force. To the family's surprise one of the headmasters for the local private school is also working at the police station. Nobody knew he had two different jobs.

Rudy and Julie celebrated their birthday's together. It's hard to imagine Rudy is already an elder. I'm sad to know we're both getting older. It'll only be a matter of time before the kids are grown up and we're on our own.

Julie's an adorable toddler. Her favorite toy is the wobbly rabbit head.

Marcheline is definitely starting to take after her dad. She knows exactly how to get what she wants and she doesn't care how she gets it. I've caught her cheating at chess with Jane several times now, yet somehow Jane doesn't seem to know.

The older Jane gets the more time she spends in the garden. It must be a family thing because Rudy spends quite a bit of time in the greenhouse too. They aren't growing the freshest veggies ever but they're getting juicier and juicier.

I can hardly believe it. Marcheline is a teen. I can't imagine the trouble she'll get into with her pleasure seeking ways. As long as she doesn't turn out like her aunt she'll be okay though.

Daniel is such a book worm. He is constantly studying. I think he's very excited about heading off to college. Not too many Pitts have had that opportunity and he wants to make us proud.

I can barely recall this myself so I'm not sure you'll remember. Vince, Rudy's older brother, had a fling with Sandy Bruty many, many years ago. Well, it seems he knocked her up. When the family moved to our new home Vince moved out on his own, but after he learned Sandy was pregnant she moved in with him. They have been living with each other ever since.

Vince was having a string of bad luck around that time. Not only did he have a child on the way and a woman living with him but he got abducted by aliens too.

*It was a totally natural abduction.

As Sandy was giving birth to twins, the alien spaceship was dropping Vince off.

In less then a couple years Vince had three children to take care of and a woman still living with him. He wasn't going to let Sandy cramp his style though. Just about every day he brought his co-worker, Melissa, home with him. The two would make out and do all sorts of nasty things in front of the children before Sandy came home.

Melissa was the woman Vince probably would have spent the rest of his life with if it wasn't for Sandy. I don't believe Sandy cared for Vince much either. Rumors around town said she had many other lovers besides him.

They managed to stick it out somehow. Once Vince forgot Melissa was over and woohooed with Sandy. Melissa figured they had a physical relationship but wanted to pretend they didn't. After that day Vince and Melissa were over. Hopefully, it's not too late for him to make amends with his children before they hate him forever for cheating on their mother in front of them.

Back on the home front, it was almost time for Julie to become a child. I wish she could stay a happy, carefree toddler forever, but I guess she'll have to grow up eventually. I'll have to make the most out of the next few days.

I actually caught Marcheline practicing how she would seduce one of her male classmates into doing her homework. I didn't know what to say. She really does remind me a lot of her father but she has a different means to get what she wants then he does. He wants money while all she wants to do is have fun.

Daniel and Marcheline are rather close which I think is good for both of them. They have such different personalities. It's nice that they have someone to balance them out a little.

Marcheline can get Rudy to agree to almost anything she wants. I always see her schmoozing him for the latest video game or a new shirt she just has to have. I can't believe she has so much influence on him. Honestly, it makes me nuts! I've tried talking to Rudy about it but he won't listen.

I'm beginning to think Rudy's losing his mind. The other day I overheard him talking to the veggies about how bad oil would be for them. I have no idea what that was about or why he was talking to vegetables.

Jane seems to be doing fairly well in her new career. The whole family is hoping she can make it to captain hero without getting fired. I'm not so sure though.

One day after school Marcheline brought her cousin, Scott home. We hadn't seen Vince or any of his kids in such a long time. It was quite the treat to have Scott over for the evening.

Rudy's little business is doing alright. He doesn't open it much but when he does he has plenty of happy customers except when he tries ringing out more then one at a time. He hasn't quite figured out how to use the register efficiently.

I am doing well in my career and am enjoying it way more then my job in law enforcement. I don't like leaving my family in the evening's but I know I must become a Rock Goddess to help the neighborhood.

What a strange feeling. Daniel is heading off to college. It'll be weird not having him around. I'm so glad Julie's fairly little still.

She's not that little anymore though. We celebrate Jane's and her's birthday just the other day.

While they enjoyed some cake together I could have sworn I overheard Jane telling Julie about her five lovers. The nerve! I'd like to keep my children innocent as long as possible.

Rudy's trying very hard to be better around Julie. I do think he resents her to a certain extent and I suppose I only have myself to blame for that. I shouldn't have gone behind his back and gotten myself pregnant because now Julie has to pay the price. They're getting along better now that she's a kid but he rarely picked her up as a baby or toddler.

The headmaster/police officer is stalking Jane. He comes home with her every night. They, of course, woohoo and then she forgets he exists for the evening. I'm tired of making small talk with him.

Rudy's business is coming along nicely. He sure does have some interesting customers though.

As you may have already guessed Marcheline and I are complete opposites. She's still my daughter though and I love her very much. Every now and then we're able to find a way to connect with each other and it's fantastic. It's very hard not to get an instant feeling of comfort around her all the time.

I know football is usually played in the winter when it's snowing out but it would be nice if Rudy and I didn't have to freeze our butts off just to toss a football around. Hopefully, I can put an end to the eternal winter soon.

Since Julie is quite a bit younger then Daniel and Marcheline she looks to both of them for advise and comfort on kid things. On her first day of school Julie was nervous about riding the school bus, but Marcheline was able to calm her nerves by promising to sit with her.

That didn't last long though because Marcheline headed for college a few days later. By then Julie was okay with the school bus.

I knew it was going to happen but I don't think I was really ready for it. I watched two of my three kids leave for college, my husband and sister-in-law become elders but I wanted to deny my real age for as long as possible. There's no denying it anymore though. I am officially an elder.

I don't really understand why Rudy needs to reapply for each of our children to get into private school. Can't any new additions to our family just be added to their roster based off how our other children performed. Life would be so much simpler then.

Without a brother or sister to play with, Julie spends a lot of time studying. I wonder if she'll turn out like Daniel.

I caught Rudy dozing off in the recliner the other night while reading the newspaper. He never use to do that. It comes with age I guess.

Daniel calls me about once a week and updates me on his college experience. Occassionally, Marcheline and I will chat for a few minutes during those calls too. Daniel and Marcheline share an apartment with their cousins, Scott and Victoria. When they sent me this picture I couldn't help but think they looked like misfits.

Left to right: Daniel, Marcheline, Scott and Victoria.

Their cousin, Scott likes fishing but is rather terrible at it according to Daniel. The best thing he's caught so far was a boot.

I can't begin to tell you how many stories Daniel has told me about fires breaking out. I think they have one every week. I swear I taught my children better then that.

Sounds like Daniel's found a love for sports just like me. They have a basketball hoop in their front yard that he spends a lot of his time using.

While they were off at college I finally became a Rock Goddess. From what I understand this had been a failed career in our family for awhile so I'm glad I was able to overcome all the obstacles and reach the top. Slowly over the next couple weeks the snow started to melt and the climate started to warm up.

Jane was approaching the top of the law enforcement career. The family tried not to hold their breath. We already remembered what happened last time she was so close to the top. Hopefully, she doesn't make the same mistake again.

Jane has spent so much time playing games that she maxed out her interest level in it. I wish she would stop goofing off though because she still needs a couple more skill points for that final promotion.

Rudy's gardening skills have improved greatly. He's harvesting mouthwatering cucumbers and eggplants now. They taste delicious.

All those fresh veggies help a great deal with keeping the dessert shelf stocked for his business. Those fresh desserts sell so fast!

She did it! Jane has been promoted to Captain Hero and guess who followed her home. She must be giving him some good woohoo.

Yay! There's only three more restrictions to lift - Artist, Journalism and Slacker. This apo challenge will soon be over. :)
